Charter Commission

The Charter Commission is an independent body whose members are recommended by the City Council and appointed to serve by Hennepin County District Court.  The nine-member commission's task is to periodically review and comment on the City Charter and recommend changes to the City Council, when appropriate.

Amendments to the City Charter require Council approval by ordinance or voter approval through referendum.

Meetings are held at the call of the chair at Crystal City Hall.

Notice of vacancies and the appointment process will be published on this website, the city newsletter, and local newspaper.
