This 10-member commission advised the city council in matters relating to the conservation of environmental resources, including the study and proposal of possible environmental policies; promote public education and awareness relating to such environmental issues. They also motivated interest in the proper use of, care for, the natural resources of the city.

This commission has been temporarily suspended and will be undergoing reformulation in 2024. Check this website or the city's Facebook and Twitter accounts for updates.

Crystal residents interested in serving on the EQC should fill out and submit the Advisory Boards and Commissions Application.

Meetings are held the second Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. at City Hall.

 The EQC will not meet in 2024. Its duties have been temporarily moved the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission.
