Valley Place Park Street Resurfacing
Street MapThree miles of bituminous street resurfacing in the Valley Place Park Neighborhood will take place in the spring of 2019. As part of the project, sections of curb and other concrete will be replaced, and CenterPoint Energy will make gas main repairs at scattered locations within the project area (see 2019 paving map)The work is anticipated to last about one month, weather permitting.

Motorists should expect some delays while work is occurring. Workers will attempt to
minimize disturbances, but residents can expect noise from heavy equipment and trucks, as well as some dust and occasional interrupted access and delays on the street while the work is in progress.

This work is funded through the Street Maintenance Fund and there is no direct cost to property owners. If you have any questions or concerns, contact the engineering project manager at 763-531-1161 or mick.cyert@crystalmn.gov.

Winnetka Pond East Dredging

Discussions are being held and plans developed for the dredging of accumulated sediment from Winnetka Pond East. Winnetka Pond East is in the Bassett Creek Watershed, located along the North Branch of Bassett Creek, north of 36th Ave. and east of Winnetka Ave. that adjoins the Winnetka Village Apartment property.

The dredging of sediment from the almost three-acre pond will restore water quality treatment capability and improve water quality downstream by trapping sediment in the pond. A native vegetation buffer zone is also being considered that will filter pollutants such as phosphorus, sediment and bacteria from storm runoff, improving the pond's water quality.

The work, if ordered, is schedule to begin late fall 2018 and will continue through the winter months of 2018 – 2019.
